Beta version of Cisco VPN client for Windows 7

Update (2010-05-03): Cisco VPN Client 5.0.07 has been released.

Regardless of the supposed focus of my blog, its most popular post still remains the Cisco VPN client in 64-bit Windows 7. This requirement is obviously so common that Cisco decided to implement the 64-bit client natively; it’s currently in beta testing. Philip Remaker left the following comment at my original post:

Due to popular demand, the Cisco VPN Client v5.0.7 open beta is now available! In addition to serving as a general maintenance release, the Cisco VPN Client 5.0.7 beta is compatible with Windows 7 & Windows Vista 64-bit environments. A 64-bit specific compatible image is available for installation on these platforms. Please communicate feedback (both positive and problems) to cvc-beta@cisco.com.

Key Capabilities available for Beta Testing:
New Platform support – Windows 7 & Windows Vista 64-bit platform compatibility

Software Access: http://tools.cisco.com/support/downloads/go/Redirect.x?mdfid=281940730 (under 5.BETA)
Software is available for download by any customer with a Cisco.com SMARTnet™ enabled login.

Strange the release notes still say:

Advisories for Windows 7 and Vista Users

Unsupported Features

The Cisco VPN Client for Windows 7 and Vista does not support the following features:
....
•64-bit support

For x-64 support, customers should explore with their Cisco sales representative the use of the next-generation Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client.

luismg, this is not the Anyconnect client but the traditional IPSEC client.

Sort of brilliant. After all, it's still just potential and not real. Anyone have any information about the timeline for an actual public release, or how to get a hold of the beta client (for non-official testing)?
